Just Got a Phone Call. Plus: Poll!

A Pollster just called me and asked who I would vote for in the Senate Special Election. Robin Webb or Jack Ditty? I responded undecided, just because neither one has told us much other than their party affiliation. But now it’s your turn: Who would you vote for?

Ooh, Pretty: Ditty (R) Gets a Website

20090803_174630The special senate race ends August 25th, but candidate Jack Ditty (R) appears to be  shelling out for a nice website: DrJackDitty.com.

Pretty, huh? Not a lot of info there, but you can sign up for email updates if you so desire. The page doesn’t say much other than that he’s strongly pro-life and that his “priority will be bringing good, high-paying jobs”.

He has one heckuva grin, too.

Special Senate Race Fundraising Update! Ditty (R) Pulls Ahead.

337/365: The Big Money

This race may be more thrilling than we thought! Or not. According to a multitude of sources, mine being the Courier-Journal, Republican Jack Ditty has reported raising $26,720 Thursday, and pushed it through the Kentucky Registry of Election Finance. All in all, not bad.

His Democratic opponent, Robin Webb, has reported a total war chest of a whopping $0. Which I’m sure isn’t true, given she just released a horrible radio ad about a coal mine, a rock and Jesus. We’ll give her some time.

Oh, and that indy we were talking about the other day? He hasn’t reported any earnings. I’d like to know if this guy is serious or not.

Reminder: the election is August 25th.

Right to Life KY Endorses Jack Ditty (R) in Special State Senate Race

BGP keeps the news cycle rolling today with news that the pro-life group Right to Life‘s Kentucky chapter is going to endorse the republican candidate for Charlie Borders’ (R) old State Senate seat, Jack Ditty (R).

Why? Because of his “desire to protect human life from the threats of abortion and euthanasia.” Go figure.

The election is going to be on August 25th, and is expected to draw as much attention as a KY senate seat can. Which isn’t a lot.

Independent Jumps in Special State Senate Race

Frankfort, Kentucky
Image via Wikipedia

Ol’ Charlie Borders goes to the Public Service Commission, Beshear calls a special election for his State Senate seate, and all heck busts loose. Then, Jack Ditty jumps in the race for the Republican Party to face off against the Democratic Robin Webb. Then along comes some random guy from my hometown who plunges in the race. According to Bluegrass Politics, Guy E. Gibbons, Jr. of Greenup County (the same as locale as Jack Ditty) is set to run as an Indy.

Gibbons said he is a semi-retired construction worker and farmer, a member of the Kentucky Farm Bureau board and a former member of the Flatwoods City Council. He also said he once ran for county commissioner.

Asked why he is running, Gibbons said, “I want to see some difference made in Frankfort. I don’t think the job is getting done.”

He’s right there.

The bigger issue here is, what are his views apart from making a difference?
